A white variety grown in the south west of France, suitable for the production of quality dry and sweet wines. Low yields with small berries and thick skins that can withstand the longer ripening times required for sweet wine production. Dry wines occasionally blended with Chardonnay or Sauvignon Blanc. Floral aromas and refreshingly high acidity.

2010: Tested positive for Rupestris Stem Pitting Virus and Grapevine Fleck Virus
Good productivity. Cylindrical loose clusters, quite large but open, high sugar content. Yields may need to be controlled. Berries have thick skins, enabling bunches to withstand the longer ripening times called for in sweet wine production.
Reported to be somewhat resistant to grey rot. Good disease tolerance to bunch rots.
Stonefruit, lychees, citrus, with very intense flavours and good length - very good acid balance with fruit.
Produces fine aromatic and strong wines with good acidity in France.
2010: Tested positive for Rupestris Stem Pitting Virus
Medium crops and bunch weight, high sugar content.
Reported to be somewhat resistant to grey rot.
Produces fine aromatic and strong wines with good acidity in France.
2010: Tested positive for Rupestris Stem Pitting Virus
Less vigour and more open bunches than the Sinnott selection, perhaps slightly more advanced ripening.
Selected from the old National Collection at Blands
2010: Tested positive for Grapevine Leafroll-associated Virus 2, Rupestris Stem Pitting Virus and Grapevine Fleck Virus
Good productivity with loose bunches.
