Classic pink-skinned grape variant of Traminer, responsible for particularly pungent, full-bodied white wines. Small bunches, not particularly productive, and can be prone to virus and to rot in wetter climates. Alsatian wines are intriguingly aromatic yet dry, other wine styles for this variety can range from dry to semi-sweet to dessert-style ice wines.
