Grüner Veltliner

The most commonly planted vine variety in Austria. This variety is rather productive, with large clusters. High yields will produce ordinary wines, yet low yields offer wines of perfume and substance. Maturity should be similar to Pinot Noir.

Viticulture

Very productive, large open clusters, perhaps more open than A1-3, with riper berries. Clean, very vigourous vines. Berries and bunches are somewhat smaller than A1-3, offering more concentrated flavours.

Disease tolerance

Vines at Riversun source block have delivered very clean fruit since first harvested in 2007.

Flavour profile

Melon notes with ripe flavours and moderate intensity.

Flavour profile

Good acidity, flavours include aromatic notes similar to Viognier.
