Nick joined Riversun in 1998 to provide viticultural advice to clients and to establish superior sources of rootstock and scionwood for the nursery.
Formerly the vineyard manager for Martinborough Vineyards, he also chaired the Wairarapa Grape Vine Improvement Group and helped to establish the ISO-14001 certified "Living Wine Group" environmental management programme.
In 2004, Nick returned to his home base in Masterton and established a viticultural consultancy that now oversees many of the vineyards in nearby Martinborough. He continues to consult with Riversun and works closely with clients on their vineyard development plans. Nick writes the popular back-page column in the company newsletter, Matravina, and has published numerous articles on viticultural matters in Australian and New Zealand journals.
